Who we are

The Beaubassin Planning Commission (BPC) is the regional organization that was created under the Community Planning Act to provide planning services for the district and its residents. The Beaubassin Planning District is composed of the Beaubassin East Rural Community, the Village of Cap-Pelé, the Village of Memramcook, the Town of Shediac and the Beaubassin West Planning Area. Responsibilities

The Commission has three main responsibilities:

1. Planning

a) Prepares municipal plans, rural plans and other by-laws and regulations that can be required by the municipalities, the Rural Community or the Minister

b) Advises these partners on any issues pertaining to the district's planning.

2. Administration:

a) Makes rules for the conduct of its activities

b) Employs staff to assist with service delivery

3. Minor adjustments

a) Recommends the location of streets and lands for public purposes,

b) Grants variances on the zoning and subdivision provisions

c) Imposes conditions on certain types of development
